What is best place for a blog.

I want to start a blog with the same subject matter as one of my sites (for obvious reasons).
What would work best? A blog on blogger,a wordpress blog on same domain as site or a wordpress blog on a different domain and IP?
    Any thoughts would be welcome.
    TIA

How can you make same domain both for a blog and for a site ;)? You maybe be meaning subdomain;) I would suggest, you make two blogs, one in blogger and one in wordpress. That way you get two different IPs to link to your main site.

I meant mysite.com/blog or a subdomain.I hardly have the time to make 2 blogs but it's a good suggestion :).I just thought one (blogger) might be crawled and indexed better than a standalone blog on a different domain.

If you want to link to your site from your blog, then a blogger blog will be better than mysite.com/blog;) As google will consider a blogger blog and your site as two completely different entity. That will not be the case if you use mysite.com/blog.

My best suggestion would be to install Wordpress on your own site (same domain) in a subdomain... that way you would have a lot more control over it than if it were on a different domain or a domain you didn't even own...

If you use subdomain, each subdomain will be considered as new sites. But if you use subfolders, then all the blogs can be made a part of the main site with proper internal linkings. In that case, the content of all your blogs can be counted as a part of the main site. That is not the case when you choose subdomain.

I'm still confused. What I really want to know is it better to have the links to your site on a blog that is on your own domain or a different domain with different ip or blogger.
