    Hello,

What is the best media to use for a video on a website? wmv, wma, swf, flv, mov, rm? I have a video and not sure which media to convert to for my website.

    Thanks,
    MonaE

Majority of the website out there is using wmv and flv. Try to follow the rest. Thanks.

".flv" would be best, since its really compatible rather then others...

Okay. I have Riva FLV Encoder. Which format should I request the video be sent to me in? Currently I'm getting it in .avi. Is this the best? The quality has not been very good.

    Thanks again.

Yeah I always use flv these days - you can also make a nice interface in flash to hold the flv to blend with your site

Real Media is a death format. No one in modern internet uses it anymore, I still see old websites with .rm files.

As I said, you want Video Quality the best (in my opinion) is H.264 and for compatibility in all plataforms use Flash Video.

A flash 'banner' would be a swf file not a flv
