Rackspace Hosting was recommended to me, but I have yet to do my own research and such in regards to building a site with Wordpress and the best hosting for such.
Hostgator no doubt is the best both in terms of support and pricing. Never ever try GoDaddy for hosting. They good for buying domains but not for hosting. They have the worst control panel and very slow systems.
Please never go for this hosting. I recently purchased 2 years plan and after one month usage they blocked my wordpress site, I asked the reason they said, I can not open 30hits/15 sec whether I opened 120 requests at same time, what i did is, i disabled all the plugin but still my site was opening 55 request with SINGLE vist. So now think, even if you reduce it to 20 (Which is not possible with wordpress), now what if 4 users join your site at same time, 20+4= 80 OMG you are still voilating their TOS. Bottom line is, today I wasted my two years plan and now i'm finding a new hosting provide who allow my 2500/day visitors. So never go for IX Webhosting.
