in these days when there is a lot of options available then you just dont need to confuze, now you can develop your website using wordpress or druppl where all your seo needs are available.
Well, WP or Drupal are not always the right "site" ... CMS is nice, but not always needed. The more plugins you install, the worse will get the loading time... if you do not know how to optimize WP or Drupal to boost loading time! To develop sites "SEO-friendly" you should consider the following: 1. (X)HTML valid code 2. Optimized/Minified/Combined JavaScript/CSS 3. Optimized Graphics 4. Title/Keywords/Domain name... If possible you can use a CDN or cookieless domain to boost your websites loading speed. There is some more that can be done, but that depends on the site you build. At least I am working like this. If you need more informations you can send me a PM. Just to mention, all my sites are built like this, even my WP blogs (Google Page Speed Score 93/100)...
