A Quality is a link from a site that is the same topic as yours. Front page links are best compared to links on pages inside a site.
that's a bit more complicated... but suffice it to say... a BACKLINK from YAHOO! is higher quality than one from me. some people consider a site with HIGH GOOGLE PAGERANK (PR) as high quality. good luck.
Its when another site has link on their site to your site. I think backlink stems from the idea that you give hime a link, he gives link back to you. However, it does not have to be a link exchange. Even one-way links are called backlinks.
