If you have more specific questions, then come back here and ask them. In short, affiliate marketing is being the middle-man between a customer and the vendor. The customers find your site, click on your link which has a special code from the vendor in it and when he buys stuff from the vendor you'll get credit for it, which can be a percentage of the saleprice or a fixed amount for some action the customer did (sign up to a newsletter, fill in a form etc.)
I think through Affiliate marketing you can make money by referring the people. I have also done that previously and the benefit of it is that you can make as much money as you want..
