Hi Many people in this forum are talking about affiliate marketing. What is it and how to get that into our sites? Is it profitable?
You basically market other people's stuff on your site and you get a cut of the profits. The percentages vary depending of what your selling and what they are offering. LinkShare.com is an example of a site which brings together website publishers and companies looking to sell products. If you're selling something to visitors of your site want and you have good traffic then it could be profitable.
as an affiliate, you market products of some merchants who pay you for each sale/lead. there are some big affiliate networks as well where you can sign up and find lot of merchants under them. commission junction, linkshare, and azoogle are the ones i myself use
How to get it into your sites? Basically write content that is a good fit for the product you are recommending or writing about. In essence you pick a product that is a good fit for your site/content/page and become an affiliate of that program either by joining a marketplace or by signing up specifically with that vendor. You then include a link/banner etc on your site to that page so your visitors can go check it out. If a visitor happens to buy that product as a result of your referral you get paid a commission. Clickbank is a good marketplace for digital products. Dean
