What is a reasonable CPM for a tech site?

    Hi,

I recently ran across this forum courtesy of google. Judging my a lot of the discussions here, it seems like you guys have a keen sense for monetizing websites - which I admittedly lack.

I've been browsing through some threads hoping to learn stuff. Linking in sigs is definitely a good idea, something I should have thought of long ago...

The site I run gets around 10-15K views/day, roughly 1000 uniques I believe/day. We focus very specifically on computer system architecture and related topics (semiconductors, software, compilers, OS, and especially CPUs). Currently, half of our traffic is in our forums. I realize that forums don't tend to monetize very well - especially with a tech savvy audience. Our audience is largely programmers, hardware developers and sys admins. I've done a demographics survey and it's a mostly male audience, average guy knows 3 programming languages, has a BA/BS or MA/MS and visits daily.

What kind of CPMs should I be getting?

Right now, I think we probably make around 5-600/month off say 200-400K views.

    Thanks,

    Alpha
