What is a Realistic Goal for Traffic Increase? PR3 Fitness Equipment Store

    Hello Community,

I have posted a thread here once before looking for good ways to increase the traffic for my site, http://www.kingsofcardio.com/. The Digital Point Community (you all) told me to create a Facebook account for my site, so I did https://www.facebook.com/KingsOfCardio?ref=hl

However, the busy season (October through February) is coming up and I still am virtually missing in the Google results, compared to my main competitors like http://www.fitnessblowout.com/ - Although I have the same PR that they do, http://www.fitnessblowout.com/ blows me out of the water when it comes to organic placement in Google.

According to Google Analytics, I receive around 70 unique hits a day, on average and I am looking for a strategy that will significantly increase my traffic. With that said, I do not know what a realistic goal should be for my site? Unfortunately, I do not have the financial ability to pay for top-of-the-line SEO work, or even economical SEO packages, but I do have the time and resources to optimize the site on my own. Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated. Some legit posters responded to me last time through PM's and as soon as I get the cash flow, I will look more seriously at the formal offers I have received on here from SEO specialists.

At the moment, I just want to know how much potential you all think the site has (how many hits a day should I aim for) and any strategy that I may be missing or not performing correctly.

My site is approximately 3 years old and I need to make some sales to earn a living and am trying really hard to compete. Before I started my site, I worked for http://www.fitnessblowout.com/ for two years and they certainly did a good amount of business.

Thank you for your time in reading this.

    Sincerely,

    Matt

    Hi Matt,

I checked your website and I think you've done a pretty good job with the website. SEO is a continuous process. You might want to bring in sales with a different approach, it is going to take a lot of money and time if you want to go the SEO route.

I noticed that you don't seem to update the facebook pages frequent enough. Why don't you promote it thru Facebook ads? They have very good geo-targeting ability and you'll be able to select your target market. Try it out ;)

You can easily find out how much traffic and profit can be derived from any keyword. Use the AdWords traffic estimator and reconcile that with your existing conversion rate from search traffic.

I think your site has good potential.

I think I would take a look into Conversion Rate Optimization tactics to make the traffic that does hit your site convert better.

I also agree with the Facebook idea, try and build a community of fans on Facebook and they will help to sell your products to their friends as well. Have you started a blog? This is a good way of getting interesting content onto your site as well as being able to sell your products through more exciting copywriting.
