What is a "Quality" directory to you? Feedback needed.

I always liked very much your directories Cristian but without paypal no business . They don’t have paypal in Romenia?

Directory business it’s all about perceived value, it must look good and it must smell good

 

Nope ... Paypal thinks Romania is a high fraund country

Yes, pretty cool and also one on Kites, I am still adding sites, I have much more categories but the system only displays the ones that have listings.

 

Now THAT'S a cool feature for a future quality directory.

Not a whole bunch of empty categories...

 

Yes, I always fund it really annoying to go in a directory and lose time browsing empty categories, so I made it different, if the user goes to submit he can chose the category but it’s not displayed.

 

Another thought... Something I like to see in a directory is a strong search function that doesn't return garbage in the results. Also, it helps me find the right category for my sites if search results show what category they are listed in.

 

Is this is really important PHPld 3.06 as this feature, but 99% of directories out there don’t have it.

Good Traffic is much more important than pagerank

No more than 5 Site Wide links.

Easy submission process.

Good catagory structure

 

How about the directory script, how important of a role does it play?

 

The features of the script are half the story. But there's no point having a great script if the directory doesn't make the best of it by having enough quality links in it. A good script makes that easier to achieve, as well as presenting the links in a user-friendly way.
