Hi all, what is a proxy site? How can I tell a site is proxy? I came across this term many many times when trying to buy a website. What are the good and bad points of it? Thanks in advance.

A proxy is a site that fetches the content on some website and then displays it to you. That way you don't have to go directly to the site. Kids use them at school to bypass filters and stuff. There are other types of proxies, but if you see someone say proxy around here, chances are they're referring to a web proxy, which is what I have(tried to) described. The base way to understand is to see one.
