What is a PR8 *.edu link worth to you?

I may be able to hook some people up on this form with some VERY good .edu links. (possibly multiples from different subdomains on the same .edu). And I just wanted to get a feel for the market.

How much would you be willing to pay for a PR8 .edu link (from one of the United States' biggest and best universities)?

PR8 links go for prices in the range or $300-$1000 per month. However, if you're just selling the info then I guess you can make some quick $75-$100 or maybe more. [ yea, some people pay others for revealing sources ]

I have to say it depends if the link is Do Follow.

It would also depend if it was a "blog link / trackback" or just regular link from a regular HTML.

I know when I link my wordpress blog to a .gov blog with a trackback, it gives the site a major "jump" literally over night.

If you had proof that the links would actually *help*, like providing a sample website that is ranked high, etc. then you could make some good money off it.

If you just want to sell the links, I would do it for atleast $10 a link. Or even better yet, you should Launch a Clickbank product that gives information on .edu links and .gov links, make it a recurring commission, and you could charge like $67 a month.

If you decide you want to do something like this, let me know ; )

    Please Do Keep Us Updated.

    Thanks,
    Phil

I just figured out I can set up a page on a PR8 domain in a sub domain, and was thinking about selling links on it. I'm going to try it on my sites first, and see how it goes. I was just trying to feel out the market a little bit.

then the link will not be a PR8 link, it will be a PR0 link which will worth probably few bucks at the most. to me, it will be a PR0 brand new page and wont worth a cent as i can get a link on brand new PR0 page for free. edu links dont worth anymore than regular TLDs when it comes to backlinks

Depends on the amount of outbound links and link location (header/footer/side-bar) and some other factors as well.

They come in a packet of 30 backlinks that include other High Quality, High PR sites. .Edus are good for the purpose that they are usually kept "clean" and spam-free. That's why they are valuable; not just because they are .Edu links.

That's what people keep on saying. However, these exact same types of links gave me a push up the Google search index 11 MILLION places. I am number 22 out of 11.1 MILLION for a Highly competitive keyword.

People have argued this with me for a while now, but my own test, as well as the results of my customers (many of whom are #1 in Google for their chosen keywords), show me that the people who are saying this really don't know what the real deal is.

    Yea, same here.

It's really not hard to get an .edu or .gov link.

Just go into the big "G" and type in inurl:blog+.edu or inurl:forum+.edu , and the same goes with .gov

Then, to tell if the Link is Do Follow, then download the Firefox plug in "SelectSearch", and it will highlight all of the "No Follow" links, so you know what's good and what isn't.

    Hope that helps everyone ;)
