An impression is one show of a banner.

A lead is when some1 that followed a link, end up in a site that ask him to complete a form and submit his details. Usually the form is free to submit and is made to gather emails, phone numbers, etc.

A sale is a sale. When some1 that followed a link ends up in some site where he/she buy someting.

    I hope that help u.

a lead can be also when a customer just visit a predefined page.

Some CJ advertises wrongly defines a lead when a customer do a sale.
