What is a hot link?

I've been working a little with text ads and ad exchanges lately and they show hot link ads. I don't want to use them to advertise without knowing what they are. Can anyone help?

 

Text links are legit and they don't harm your site but some of your readers may find it annoying.

I doubt about your question. As per my knowledge I only know that hot links mean the better communication with others. Its can be other web masters or any person.

 

hotlinking refers to the direct linking of someone else's website to your website`s files.

 

A link between two applications such that changes in one affect the other. For example, some desktop publishing systems let you establish hot links between documents and databases or spreadsheets. When data in the spreadsheet changes, the corresponding charts and graphs in the document change accordingly.
