You need to pay Google & it will display your site in search results for requested keywords Of course, it will be beneficial from SEO point to view, since you will get targeted traffic
Adwords it an advertising program not SEO. The ads that you see on Google search results and other websites that use Adsense are brought by Adwords.
Google adword is an online advertising product of Google using which you can advertise on Google search pages or on websites of adsense publisher by paying a certain amount per click.
Though using it requires a lot of money. You have to pay Google to advertise your product. And it takes time to get those clicks.
Adwords you use to pay for advertising on Google and Adsense is what you use to put ads on your website to receive money from Google. Using either won't help SEO. Using Google content sites such as youtube will help SEO since Google is known to favor their sites.
