is there an amount of blogs that should be posted each month. I know more is better, but I do not always have time to write.
I'd seem to think that 1 post per week should be good for Google to see that you're constantly updating.
wow... that is a huge difference a suggestion of 4 and a suggestion of 15-30 per month... I guess I should be more specific in my goals. I dont mind the exposure in the SE but this blog is more dedicated to helping my users find new features within my site. would this make the number of posts go up or down if i am targeting users vs SE
I would be of the opinion to post 1-2 times a week in your scenerio. Since you are gearing the posts to your users. I would have a set regiment of when you post though. This way your users will get used to looking for new information on certain days because they know you will be posting new info on that day. For example: Always post on Mondays. That way your users will know to especially come by on Mondays to find new stuff. Just my 2 cents
Again 15+ is if you want content and you're trying to reach people with search engines and so forth. You can tame it down a bit when you have subscribers
I agree with Wacman if it is for your readers. If your after search engine results the more the better. A post a day is a great way to keep search engines coming back.
A post a day would be ideal, but if you can make one good, long, informative post once every 2-3 days, it should do.
I used to post every day on my personal blog - I was very diligent and achieved PR4 after only a few months. Laterly I have scaled back to only 2 or 3 posts each of about 300-400 words per week and haven't suffered SERPs or PR wise.
