Since I recently started really using Goolge Analytics I would like to know what an average or what is a good bounce rate is for a landing page. Thx in advance.
It all depends on how well you construct your site content and work on navigation and internal linking. It can be related to your niche as well. 50-60% should be around there. Of course it's not uncommon to see nicely developed site to be only 40%
bounce rate of google is not 100% accurate because google shows the bouncing rate because the user always go to another page from landing page.
It really depends on the niche you are in. Also if you are talking about landing page and you have AJAX based enquiry form, then your bounce rate may be 90%, but you are getting good enquiries, and that's what matters. I've worked on flash sites, which had 80% to 90% bounce rate, but they were ranking well for their keywords, so client wasn't much interested in bounce rate. Just my 2 cents, hope it helps.
