    Hi,

What is a good anti-spam program for cpanel?

I POP3 all my emails to my Microsoft Outlook from my email server.

The only anti-spam program on my email server is Spam Assassin.

    Question:

Is there a program that can let me mark spam emails on my Microsoft Outlook, and feedback this data to my email server so that it sends such emails to the junk folder instead of keeping them in inbox for POP3?

Did you enable the RBL's in cpanel? If not that might help. Also setting your thresholds tighter will help also. You can also add custom RBL's into cPanel that will help also.

To make sure the RBL's are enabled login to WHM then go to Service Configuration -> Exim Configuration Manager -> RBL's then check both boxes.

For clients we add custom filters to block out based on keywords for example.

What is "Reject remote mail sent to the server's hostname"?

I read the description and still don't get what it means.

Can anyone show me an example?

If your hostname is cpanel.yourdomain.com, you shouldn't be getting email at .

A lot of customers which have accounts on Cpanel based linux servers use Boxtrapper and Spamassassin to control spam on their email accounts.

Spam Assassin is really more of a top level program that uses many other public domain programs to classify spam. Each program examines an email message in a different way and make a numeric classification. The higher the number, the more likely it is spam. Spam Assassin then takes these many "opinions" about the email and weights them into a single number representing the likely hood of spam. This "spamicity" value can be seen in the header of your email message when you view the source.
