I have just started working on Google Adwords campaings and would like to know what is a Good Adwords C.T.R ?.
Because CTR is affected by position, there is no answer to the question. Also, there will be wide variances of CTR between keywords in one niche vs another, even in one position. So any answer is irrelevant. But guess what? Google has developed a system that figures it all out. They call it Quality Score or QS for short. QS is calculated by comparing your CTR with that of competitors using the same keyword. It also takes into account position. They used to have different levels of poor, good and excellent which correspond roughly to QS of 1 to 3 (poor), 4 to 6 (good). A QS of 7 and up is excellent. QS is the number you should be concerned about, not your absolute CTR.
Click through rate should only be one part of your selling equation. It does you no good to have a very high CTR but a very low conversion rate. You'll end up losing money. CTR for broad matched keywords may get you many clicks but few sales. Analyze both CTR and conversion rates to determine your return on investment. Compare all your keywords/ad copy and retain the ones that make you money. Test, test, test!
