I'm fed up with searching for designers and being let down, I'm wondering if the contests route is a better way to go? Before I start posting projects I wanted to understand what you guys look for in a contest and also what prizes I should be offering? The sites are often 1 or 2 page templates and for various industry's All comments appreciated. Mods, this seemed like the best location for my post and question however, if you are unhappy please give me a shout. Many thanks Paul
Most contest holders start at $100 or so... There is no real answer for your question because it depends entirely on the complexity of the design you're looking for. Most businesses will charge you $300-800 for a design - no programming (DP is a very cheap alternative but you have to watch out for template theft and cheaters. Not to mention the quality of work doesn't always shine through.) Hope this helps.
a .psd seems to go from $100-$200 here, non coded. I have seen some coded contests up to $500 and even higher.
Uncoded contests get many more better entries. Most designers here don't have time or don't know how to code.
Yes.. Kim kiyaa is right! And.. fair prices are likely $100-$200 for an uncoded design! For coded, $150+ is good!
All the best, "higher prices will gained a better design" more $$$ = more designers will design their best for you.. otherwise
yes people will definitely design you a 2 paged website for $100-300. Lesser than that you won't get quality.
