What is a blacklisted item?

    i tried to post to a blog with a perfectly legitimate comment {I never post entries unless I have something substantial to say} and it blocked me from commenting because I had the link to my site in there. It said it was a blacklisted item. What does this mean? I had never even tried to post to the blog before. Other people had their links in there too. So I don't understand.

    This is exactly what it said:

    Normally its because your blog has been blacklisted - are you sure your domain wasnt used before you owned it? or it could be a blacklisted word in the comment maybe/

    It's not my blog.

    It's cisco.com news blog. {Couldn't post the link because my account isn't working right, so, just, whatever. Google it I guess.}

    I was told by multiple sources that one major way to build backlinks is by commenting on a blog and including your link. They have a field for your website so I placed it there. I posted a comment lasting a couple paragraphs of my best input on the subject, then when I tried to post it, I got the message above.

    I really am in a panic here. I try so hard to stay away from any black hat. so I don't undersstand what went wrong.

    My site has been going for 5 years and was never used by anyone else. Recently its attendance has slumped so I turned to SEO to try and get it up higher in the results.

    Yeah.. you should Google it first. You ca get lots of information in Google about your problem. I also wonder how it happened.

    I checked my site's "cleanliness" in google and it came out clean!

    I'll assume it's a glitch or something and move on, though I'm actually glad to hear now that Google is lowering the weight of blog comments if they're this risky. Feel like i'm walking on eggshells sometimes... Don't want to risk getting BL'd by the big G :)
