I want to be able to use some kind of images for when I put up a post to a link (story, article somewhere else on the web), but what's the rules for what images I can use? can I use an image from the source that I'm linking to? or do I have to completely use stock images? Here's the site, and you can see I haven't used any images at all for the posts. http://roboticmountain.com/ What's a good solution to this ?
You can use any image you want as long as is not copy-righter material with very restricted copy-rights. It's rare to find these type of copy-right images online. You could share any image someone else has already share online. There are even sites where people share only images. Sites like Pinterest.com I would say you can share the images you have on your blog. Your source is already letting you publish them on your blog so that means people will share stuff. The images will be shared online anyways, as long as you have a lot of visitors coming in. So you should be good to go! Hope this helps! CHeers!
But how can you know whether an image is usable or not? you seem to be saying if it's used in an article than it's usable, but my understanding is that's not the case, and that unless it's clear that the image is usable, generally they will not be allowed to be used.
