What image format is best for improve performance of website?

    Please suggest me that what image format(.jgp, .gif, .bmp, png) is best to improve performance and speed of Website.

    It depends on the type of image you're dealing with. jpg's for instance, are great for photographs because they can be compressed a lot while still maintaining a good image quality.

    GIF tends to be the smallest, JPG next. GIF is the lowest quality and is fine for banners and ads. JPG is best for reasonably clear photos.
    BMP and TIF are not considered "web friendly".

    Depends on the picture - use JPG for photos, PNG for digitally created images you want in FULL quality that aren't that complex, and gif for animations or web objects.

    PNG, portable network graphics aren't lossy formats - so your images is as if it was a bitmap - and is shown in its full glory.

    dont use bmp for others you use which format is low size
