My forum is almost two month old and I have 169 members, about 15 of those are banned member. But it seems people just come and read, copy info without a thank you note.

Do you think its because my topic is more informationaly than to get people involve in disccustion? Can you cheick it out and give me a feedback? :(

I think that they are nothing that may interest your audience. Maybe you should start interacting with them. Also try to promote your forum :p

Start promoting it to another forum or websites if you can able to. And description of each thread would better so that people know where to go and what to read and say.

I have a forum with 2000+ members and only about 6 are active, but when I bother it can improve. Just make some controversy and always leave something to be answered. Make a bunch of accounts and ask dumb questions so other people feel comfrtable to answer them.

Getting a forum started and to the point where it's active is extremely hard.

If you can afford it you should do the following:
    • First find a way to monetize your forum with high paying ads.
    • Then buy as much advertising for your site as you can afford.
    • Hire 5 people to post about 10 times a day to keep things somewhat active.
    • Start with like 5 sections max, instead of 15. Fewer sections will give the illusion that your forum is more active than it really is.
    • Get a new skin.

You just need to promote it actively. Try to be into the latest topics. :)

What you are seeing, Realbigsource, is typical. It's average. ALL boards see this when starting out.

You just have to get more visitors coming in.

Getting a brand new forum off the ground is one of the toughest things to do. Personally, if I stumble on a message board, one of the first things I look at is its number of members. If it is very low I wont even bother... I suggest going into the buy sell trade area of DP and paying a few people some money to sign up and post on your forum, to get it off the ground. The more you pay em the better quality of posts you can usually get. Might be worth a try! I am sure there are plenty of people that could fill up your board for about 10 cents a post.

Get good content, have some controversial posts too, people will sign up just so they can reply, if they feel strongly about it.

You might want to address this better.
Looking at the site earlier I didn't know what it was about.
Try adding the welcome header hack, or use the notifications built in 3.7

    cheers

Nice site and layout. I'm on a lot of forums that interest ME. Each has it's own niche. Just post more, submit it to search engines. Keep it in your sig EVERYWHERE! Check your meta tags, etc.

Just stick to the basics. When forums go the way of websites with loads of blank, empty space and tiny scrunched writing in the page center, I'll leave them alone too.

your forum is too new to tell. 169 members is nothing for a forum. work on promoting your forum.

Interact with your customers, encourage them to join. Tell them why they should join. Run a contest.

Make them want to give back to the community.

I agree with all these guys. The basic thing you have to remember is: they have to want what you have to give. You can make them want it, but if they don't want it, they won't buy it.
