What if my competitor made a warez site or an adult site(or anything that is ovbiously against the TOS) and then placed my google ads on it, how will google know that that site isn't mine?
Then you could go back to your hosting company, and they can verify that they were registered on different credit cards, to different people?
I've always thought that google should make adsense users register each domain with them, that way they could control such things more easily. Having the adsense pub-id on each page seems like a little security risk for the account holder.
We'll never know. Because most people that get banned by google never get the reason of the ban. Or something ambiguous. Thats why I'm afraid to visit my own site, I've got the feeling google will ban you for even looking at your own ads.
Wow. Your a bit exagerated I've never thought about that way of getting killed by a competitor tough, that for sure may become a headache for some people.
Well, are they going to copy all your "personal" information and billing information as well. Someone's got to be paying for the domain and hosting, and it's not your bank account. Plus, would Google have records of other pub-ids that may have been used on that domain (id's that belong to the real culprit). I can't believe it would take more than a few hours for both your host and Google to figure out that someone was up-to-no-good, and that it is not you.
Does google really do that? I mean they contact your host before banning you because your site was illegal?
You misunderstood me. I meant that your host is also likely to be upset with you for this kind of activity, especially since someone who isn't you is claiming to be. But they have billing records that should show that the website is not owned by you. You could always use that prove your innocense to your host, and hopefully to G too. I just don't think that such a scam could succeed.
