I have been thinking what if you own your forum to market you biz and services online that will be great inmagine you have two hundred thousand members in your forum which means these two hundred members will be on your list if you have a product or services you will have them to reach first before thinking on other ways to market your products or services think about it i know it is not easy but i too it is not imposible you can do it you will also be there for the internet users to always help them out with what you know because having two hundred thousand members to teach and learn from you will be a resivour of knowledge in the internet biz

i think he's asking if running your forum can make you money and i'm sure can, only, getting a forum going and keeping people using it is VERY VERY DIFFICULT. so good luck if you choose to do this.

You are talking about freeclassifiedadsforum i guess. It's over 200,000 members but maybe 1,000 are actually active and not online at the same time. In that niche market, internet marketers come and go all the time. They promote for a few weeks, make no sales or even loose thousands of dollars and stop visiting those types of forum's. Even though you can email all members on your forum, you should NOT email the ones that choose to "not recieve emails from the admin" cause that'll piss them off and prolly ask for there account to be removed. Even worse, you'll get a bad reputation as a forum owner. (I don't do this cause i respect each and every member on my forum) If someone wants advice and i spot the thread or another member on my forum does, i expect good advice to be given or i'll jump in the thread to help out. Also, if you are wanting to create a forum and in it for the long hall, then be prepared to invest in it. I've seen many free advertising forums come and go and very few last for more then 2 years. (i've been posting on free ad forums since 2005 btw) I'm a little tired but i hope any of this helps. (Sorry for the rant, i haven't had coffee yet)
Building a forum with 200,000 members is quite an achievement. You can use a forum to promote products and recommend services but the key to forums is creating a community of active users who enjoy being together. They don't have to agree but they do need to look forward to the debates if they disagree. Getting people interested and keeping them interested requires a good bit of work. Obviously forums can be build to be larger but look at how many members are online here each day. Then plan your forum membership accordingly.
