What if you did this with a email list!?

What if you went to yellowpages and went to every single website and got their emails. Lets say you covered the whole USA and have over 5k emails and you want to send out a newsletter. What would be the safest method:

1: Pay a company like aweber to mass email all those emails and use a reply email or would you use your hosts email?

2: Send out below the limit emails on one of your web servers or home ISP hourly example: 500/per hour

3: Send out the newsletter with a unsubscribe option, so it looked like the signed up for it.

4: Just send out the email as someone and say somthing like "I saw you on the other forums and i think you would like this newsletter that was sent to me from companyhere" ?? And just make a reply address or something..?

    Or any other method?

Please help, thanks!!! Its only gonna go out 1 TIME, no more than once!
    Whats your advice on this??

The newsletter will not have ANYTHING to buy. It is just a few links directing to a website about some information thats it only, its a forum.

I don't think it's a good idea. Forget about doing this...

Not a good idea dude. And services like Aweber will ban you for spamming.

Instead, capture emails using legitimate means...

First off you would be shut down pretty fast. Even companies like Constant Contact would not let you because the amount of complaints they would receive from people receiving unsolicited emails would be endless.
Once they shut you down the various federal agencies monitoring this stuff, which is currently looked at as being just about as offensive and angering as anything on the internet, would sweep in and probably arrest you as a spammer, lol

    This is a spam recipe.

If you aren't legitimately capturing their email, then you don't have a right to email them.

I think we all agree that while it can be done, you will probably be fined, arrested, or banned from....everywhere, lol

Then how do you legitmately capture their emails??

Like what would stop someone from walking down the street and writing down their addresses and snail mailing them something? Whats the difference?

So what good is CANSPAM act then!?? http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/conline/pubs/buspubs/canspam.shtm
