Dear All, i'm yet to chose hosting plan for my domain zonaltrade.com registered last month. It is really tough for me to chose cheap and reliable hosting co. I need atleast 5 GB space in the range of $30/year.

I just wanted to know what will happen with my site if my hosting provider came out to be a cheat or company get closed. Where i will renew my hosting again?.

same as in case of domain...where i will renew my domain again from since my domain is registered for a year only.

    Please help me out.

    Thanks in advance

you renew your domain with your domain registrar - whatever that may be and if you are worried about your host shutting down then don't pay a year in advance, pay monthly or even quarterly and see how it goes so if anything happens, you won't be losing out on a lot

what kind of site are you trying to host? I may be able to help you out but I am not sure that we can give 5 gb space for $30/year - will you be using all 5 GB? or are you just purchasing just in case because if you are just starting out, 1gb would do

well if you have budget $30 per year i have the following offer for you:
    15GB space, 100GB bandwidth. $30/year or $2.99/month. Everything allowed.

If you order the yearly package today you will get your 15GB doubled to 30GB free of cost.

That should be the place you have registered your domain name first time, unless that has been transfered to another registrar.

    Hi Nextgenseo,

Yes & No, You may transfer your hosting to other service / hosting provider if you do have the backup but if you have completely doesn't have your site backup then you will probably not able to transfer.

For domain name you will do not have to worry, this will never happens as most of the hosting provider register your domain thru a third parties domain registrar company and if this happens, just simply go to www.whois.sc and type in your domain name and you should be able to see the "REAL" domain registrar. It just that easy :)

About your hosting plans, I may offer you to take a look at our company current promotions at http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1147281 . We guarantee your satisfaction.

    Thank You

when you sign up with a new company just make sure you take daily or weekly backups for yourself just in case and then slow down and take monthly backups once you start to trust the host - i used to do the same thing because you can't really trust everyone :) then you will be able to transfer to a new hosting provider pretty easily

If your host ends up being a "cheat" as you have asked, you simply change hosts, and change your DNS with your registrar to point to the new host. Total down time could be as little as 8 hours.

My suggestion? Don't go with a "cheap" host. Find one that is reliable, proven, and has been around for more than a few years.

If your domain is for a single year then go ahead and renew it for two more years.

As far as I know there is a good plan with Godaddy.com where they provide you with 150Gb of space and 15000Gb of Bandwidth. I guess it would be enough. It is delux hosting of Godaddy.com

With a coupon the hosting normally $6.99 a month can be as low as 50%.. and yes they will not shut down very soon so no problems with host getting down.
