Doesn't exist anymore. The only way to counter this is to search for paragraphs on your content once in a while and include many links. Most content copiers don't remove links.
I've had some people do this with my articles.. and in some cases, not my entire article, just the first couple paragraphs of several of my articles (as well as others peoples articles i'm guessing). The problem with this guy was that he did not list ANY contact information on his website, he knew what he was doing, he didn't want anyone to contact him. So in this case, i could not contact him and ask him to link back to me... oh well. I just shrugged it off, what can i do? i emailed ezinearticles letting them know, their response was "if you would like, we can takeyour articles down" which would be pointless for me, it was a lose lose situation.
One thing I have done with a little success on 4 occasions is set up a blog disrespecting the site. Usually just telling them that your article has been copied is enough, a lot of people use a scraper and will happily change anything if directly asked to, if your pleas go unanswered I set up a simple blog with disparaging content on there, tell the admin that unless he takes down your content you will PPC the shit out of it. There is a downside to this, while most will back down and remove the content, there are some who will see the "any news is good news" viewpoint and happily accept any traffic they might sponge from you.
People sometimes steal my writings. But, I rarely even see it when they do and I don't think they make any money off of it. As long as they give me credit I'm cool.
In my opinion you can't build a solid online business based on stolen content. That said I don't care about scrapers and webmasters that copy my content on a daily basis. They are just wasting their time because Google's duplicate filter is becoming better and better.
