I have an idea. If I reduce the size of <h1> tags and use it in all post title in place of <h2> tags that I'm currently using, will that help? Does h1 tag still hold any importance? Will google see it as an attempt to exploit the system and punish me? How many are you using h1 tags?
At the very best it won't do anything really. You should only have 1 h1 tag per page and then use the h2 - h6 tags as headings for sections of your page. The best approach, IMO, is to theme each page for 1 keyword - use that Keyword in the Page title and H1 tag and then set the rest of the page up around the keyword. Your idea is creative but it's not the best use of H1 tags Yes they still have importance - I hope we all use them.
My dear Friend You can use it without any hesitation. It is the best idea. Why ask everyone when to give reply to you that tell you the appropriate reason and proof and example before saying. If you use h1 in all your post ( i am sure evey post is having different page) and reduce the size. Secondly make use of keyword for that page in the title tag, header tag and the content of the page 4 to 5%. Finally if you have sub topic then use h2, h3 and similar others. And listen google and other search engine too gives importance to h1 tag yes but if you look for overall percentage of pagerank then the ratio of h1 tag is very very low but it is taken into consideration Cool Mate and Enjoy your day
