What If I remove few keywords; Google will still send same traffic?

    I have got two types of keywords in the same website. e.g. 1) Mobile 2) Laptop

    Let's say currently I receive 500 visits from Google every day because I have 100 back links.

    Out of those 500 users, 100 are related to LAPTOPS and 400 related to MOBILES.

    Now If I remove the keywords about LAPTOP in my website and still keep the keywords for Mobile, Will Google send me 500 daily users related to MOBILE or the total users will decrease to 400?

    I am just wondering if Google calculates traffic based on backlinks or based on keywords?

    ------
    P.S. Let's assume that all the traffic is coming for non competitive keywords... so obviously i am not beating others on REAL competitive keywords.

    I am not sure I understand your question. You're considering taking out "laptop" keywords from your site and asking if that will effect search? On-page content is only one small part to the SEO puzzle. I'm not sure if the effect would be immediate or substantial.

    Thanks amelen,

    so if no other factors change but only the "laptop" keywords been removed, I would still getting the same number of users from Google?

    Actually "laptop" keywords are not performing well for us and we are thinking to remove them so that instead of 400 "mobile" keywords users, we could get 500 mobile related users.

    ---
    P.S. i am using 'laptop' and 'mobile' keywords just as an example... they are not the real keywords.

    The real question is, why remove a keyword? What is wrong with traffic?

    @theseoguys

    Here is an example!

    If we receive 100 users related to "laptop" keywords, we make only $5. That is because we don't have much variety of laptops.

    If we receive 100 users related to "mobile" keywords, we make only $20. That is because we have all kind of mobiles...

    Now we want to maximize the profit by getting all "mobile" keyword users. I hope you got the point.

    Once ranked in top at search engins, you can change the keywords. It won't affect your visitor count.

    Dear it will affect your daily visits because you are saying that you are getting 100 visits from the keyword 'Laptop', when you will remove this keyword then ranking will also drop related to this keywords and it will impact on your daily traffic.

    @johnette, @3glogic
    But if Google is supposed to send me 500 daily visitors based on my backlinks, Google can increase my traffic for some of my mobile related keywords to give me same rank in Search engine?

    Its better to keep the laptop keywords.If you remove the keyword ,google won't send any extra traffic related to mobiles.The important thing is you are getting traffic,what ever the keyword.

    You are thinking in way that,google give more importance if you have only one niche in your website.But it is not like that.

    As soon as you remove laptops you'll start to lose your rankings for laptops. Then when you lose your rankings you'll lose your traffic for that keyword. Google isn't supposed to send you any amount of users per day. They just rank your site for keywords based upon the SEO you did for the site. And part of that SEO is content. Thus remove the content (i.e. laptops) lose the rankings and lose the traffic.

    I'm wondering too. Why remove a keyword if you could add more.
