Got set up recently with a new product on Clickbank and here's what I realized: Unless you spend some good money on recruiting affiliates, your product is just going to sit there with empty values (like gravity, etc.) and nobody is going to promote it! I was naive enough to think that affiliates will just find the product and start promoting Since I am set up on Clickbank already (as opposet to taking payment via something like Paypal), it might actually produce a higher ROI if I spend money on getting affiliates, than paying for PPC traffic directly. What do you guys think??
Yes ... it would be interesting to have a thread about recruiting affiliates, hopefully there will be some good insights here. The only method I use (and know) is to post here on DP and it has worked with some success. I think once you get some gravity you will be found more easily in the CB marketplace.
1) There's tons of affiliate program directories .. 2) There's CB advertising 3) And there's tons of guides out there that can get you started to recruit affiliates.. If you're just standing there nothing will happen. Even a 12 year old could submit a book to clickbank and expect to get rich overnight, but things just aren't that way. Al.
Yes its true you may have a really good product, but unless there is awareness about that product you won't get anywhere.
You are absolutely right! You have to work to get affiliates. Seek out the affiliate directories and put your site in them, it's a start. It would also be good to advertise for affiliates like you said. Mike
What i would have done: I would have offered a nice sales page & a high quality product that actually works. I would have advertised on a few leading forums & directories. Complete Affiliate section No Competition with Affiliates as far as PPC is concerned 90% Commission Forever (75% + 15%) Prizes No Optins / No Sales page link like "Affiliates Make Money Here" No shady gravity boosting scripts / nothing like that Quick Support - A Reply to any query/help within 12 hours These are some useful tips. And yes, I do believe that affiliates deserve 90% (or even more) as they do all the work. Anyways, I can always get 100% for some sales for which cookies are not tracked.
Very interesting post. The product needs to be attractive for the affiliate! I agree! Very attractive!
Not only finding the affiliates is important BUT training those who want to market your product. Most cb products have VERY LITE affiliate pages.
The contents of your "affiliate page" are of great importance to the 80% of your affiliates who make 20% of your affiliate sales. The other 20%, who make 80% of your affiliate sales (the professional affiliates) couldn't care less about whether you provide affiliate toys/gimmicks. Their concerns are entirely different ones. Of course, in terms of their numbers, in forum discussions and so on, they're always very greatly underrepresented.
Thanks.. I am gradually working on something like that. It will be ready in 3 months. If I am not banned by then (I'll try to stay within the rules), I'll definitely launch it here too.
