There are quite a few posts asking why their ad doesn't show. They are all specific to the enquirer and their website. My questions is more general: What are causes that you have encountered that do not let your ad display properly? I am somewhat confused by the answers in the different posts and wonder whether there is a common thread in all this. So basically my question is: In your experience, what have been the reasons that your ads have not been displayed?
1. Ads not yet approved. Note that ads will still be served on Google's search but not its search partners and even then servings will be slowed down. Ads will not show at all on the content network until approved. 2. Poor QS. QS=1 is basically the off switch. Between 2 and 4, ads served much less often, almost to the point of not being served at all some times. 3. CPC below first page estimate. You'll get impressions but only for the percentage of people looking at results past the first page. Rough rule of thumb: you'll get half the impressions for each page. So if 100 searches, obviously 100 see the first page, 50 go to the second, 25 to the third. Some niches will be even worse like only 25% or less going to the second page. 4. Budget not high enough. If CPC is $0.25 and budget is $4, your ad serving will be slowed to reflect that, especially if there are thousands of searches for your keywords. So if there is 1000 searches a day for your keywords and you expect a 5% click rate at 25 cents, your budget should be at least $12.50. Else, Google will spread out your servings during the day and you'll get nowhere the number of impressions you expected. 5. Poor settings. If your keywords are all English and you set your campaign to show only to those speaking another language, chances are your ads won't show. Other settings that could affect are scheduling and regional setting. You could add to that not providing billing information which some people don't do apparently or their CC is not valid. There is also an end of campaign date setting. 6. Poor choice of keywords. If nobody searches on them, your ads won't show. I've had a couple of clients with some weird ideas on keywords they want to target.
Lucid gave a detailed explanation. But in these days, there are another reason that Google is reviewing your account, especially your account is new or you have promoted some other products their policy doesn't like before.
I started an ad campaign 3 weeks ago and my ads still arent showing and its because first of all I used a redirecting url and not my own domain name. so I bought my own domain name for the site and they are still not showing and the only thing it could be is I was awarded free adwords credits and they work like a prepay account and adwords quotes that it take 8 to 10 days to proccess
When you are new in these then it is quite sure that you will be facing that kind of problem. But I will creating some problem in early stages. When you aware of it you should solve your problem easily.
Interesting. Have you tested that? You mean you can't by a domain name and redirect it to a site and use your domain name in the destination url?
i had this same problem and raised my per day budget and they started showing in 15 min There goes $30
