This is probably the best place to talk about this, and sorry if I spoil any movies for anyone but.... I'm 27, when I was younger movies were good, thrillers were thrilling, comedies were funny, dramas were dramatic, etc... Now, it seems that Thrillers are...not believable, comedies are stupid and dramas are more comedies, but most importantly EVERY MOVIE ENDS WITH ALIENS! Is there a lack of good writers or what? Maybe the people writing movies now didn't do enough drugs like the baby boomer's (I am no condoning drug activity, just saying it seemingly made them more creative)...but the movies are just horrible anymore. If anyone has a good...and i mean a REALLY GOOD movie I can either rent or go the theater to watch, please let me know, I'm like starving for a good movie and my thirst has not been quenched in some time!
If you want a great modern day thriller then go an watch a Christopher Nolan film, or a David Fincher film perhaps. Public Enemies and Terminator Salvation will be at the cinemas next month. No shortage at all.
Even i have the same problem... i have been planning to go to theaters for a while now... but i don't which films to watch.... none of the new films review has impressed me..... This has ultimately led me to download watch some 1950's classics like bicycle thieves, sathyajit ray movies( apu trilogy),seven samurai, etc... Hope some really well scripted movies comes soon....
There are several factors. Past a decade films weren't made by investing millions of dollars as of today. Today's film world has improved in technology and many people are interested in big budget films. So commercials play an important role now. Hope we can see films with better script as time prolongs...
i can recommend you some gud movies check them in IMDB.. 1.Man from Earth 2.Martyrs french(very gory movie) 3.Oldboy(kind of strange concept) I have seen many odd quite good movies but cant think of their names rite now..Duno what type of movies you prefer..
