India is an extremely strong emerging nation, with its gigantic IT savvy and English speaking population, we are honored to have a lot of our fellow members being from India. They have a lot to learn from us, and we definitely can learn a lot from them.
It's normal... because there are so many members joining every day... and it's kind of hard to keep the quality of posts and threads.
No worries, it's just a preview of what's going to happen with the Western economy and job market once globalization expands However the truth is you get what you pay for. If you want to earn money around here don't try to lower prices, you can't compete with this Instead set a much higher price and offer a better quality service. I usually just automatically ignore all the services that are priced too low here.
Terrible sarcasm!, If that was what you wanted to say. What would like to say about this thread mate. It's NOT about India or INDIANS, it's about the newbies, the competition and the demand. Have you ever observed the flurry of posts made in a "cheap service provider thread"? Demand determines the products!!, the demand for cheap goods on DP is high. The cheaper the good, the lesser is the quality. Agree with you wisdomtool
First, I know Indians here who charge on par with top professionals in western nations, and I know U.S. writers who will work for next to nothing just because they feel they have to in order to compete. As Indyeah noted, it's a newbie issue - not a geographic one (those who understand how to value and market their work here do). On that note, there are plenty of bigger money deals going on here. They're just rarely public. The beauty of DP is the visibility those providers can get by taking part in legitimate conversations rather than just blatant advertising. When we do that, buyers willing to spend more seek us out and many a deal is settled via PM. So there's definitely value for serious sellers - you just have to go about it the right way. Regarding the specific types of thread you're mentioning, if you see them posted anywhere other than freebies, just report them. That's where they belong. We already make an attempt to limit these kinds of ads, as they're often used only to amass iTrader. But there's no way we can stay on top of every thread. Just keep reporting and we do what we can.
Absolutely right. Some of the DPians are offering service and others at ridiculous price, which is difficult to believe.
Well at least we can sensibly talk about it, thanks for the good answers and I kind of get your point. About the ASOT - I'm seeing him at Global Gathering UK this year, can't wait!
Is it me or are ppl here impatient when it comes to payment? No offense directed to anyone but its just that i find that many are so money minded that its just sad.. but i guess the saying money makes the world go round does come to mind..
I think its fine here, at least people are polite here, ive dipped my toes into forums where the people are so rude ive left as quick as i joined. So i dont mind the threads here and how they have changed, thats one thing we must all do, roll with the change, lots of new webmasters coming through each day, from all over the world. People think the grass is greener on the other side so leave here, settle into another forum for a year, get bored with that too, then onto another, and so on.... Or try to duplicate dp so many of those around. If the quality of posts are not to anyones standard then create some quality ones yourself, dont expect others to create meaty threads for us all to feed of and leech info without giving something back. I come here regardless of anything useful to me or not, always something to learn here and im hopefully helping a few people from time to time as a thanks for all ive picked up from here since i used the forum. Remember that for the webmasters that do dirt cheap work here, they are in countries that can stretch a few $$'s further than where i am for example, its just the way it is, changing times, opportunities for everyone. Plus economical problems worldwide mean that people will undercut each other. Il undercut a competitor anyday, gimme some business over no business anytime.
DP has just turned into a site whr u can just bearn pennies and soon thr will be a period whn u will get everything free on this site
true. I get lots of spams (messages from DP. but the best part is they do put a ban on such people instantly and it takes a six months or so for such offenders to make a coming back.
Your post is part of the problem. I hate to be a jerk, but people should be required to pass a basic English test while registering. I don't mean to point you out specifically, but bad English is practiced by a majority of the users these days. I haven't even been here for a year and I've noticed - which says something.
Which one? UK English or US English? us brits laugh at some US english, as do yourselves probably laugh at ours. Put yourself in the position of foreigners when we go as tourists to non english speaking countries and expect them to know english for our benefit, they probably find that lazy.
