Hi Everyone, I want to know what changes has been done in SEO in last 2 years. Well, is it same or any new method has emerged or any new tools. Please reply.
More tools and Software have been made for SEO. For techniques, directories are getting obsolete and ineffective. Some say it is now a waste of time.
What about links? Aren't they changed first we used to get links from any site but now more measures is to be taken for finding relevant links, and also submitting link in search engine which is a waste of time.
SEO is such a dynamic field that the change in 2 yrs is drastic. If you want to inquire about something specific then state it
the search engines are getting smarter and the blackhat methods that had been working before are losing their worth, since the SE's keep find out about methods people use to manipulate rankings
what changed in 2007 is well known and there are numerous postings on the web to be found on that, what happened in 2008 is another matter, i have seen assymetrical linking diminish in popularity as well as google expanding the duplicate content filter. google is also giving more weight to new sites with good content as mentioned by camay123 content is king,...... i launched a site 3 wks ago and within 2 days it was on page 1 at position 3 (200,000+ search results), .. 3 wks later it is still on page 1 and has not had any link building done yet... how...every couple of days i add new content....
I think the attention to link value has increased. No longer can you just get a link with your keyword in the anchor text and get good rankings. I think now you need those types of links on pages truly backed by many other sites, that are just as relevant to the topic. I think the title tag of the page your link is on and the surrounding content is playing a greater role in relevant link building. I also feel Google has been intergrating grammar and lnguage software to identify the importance of the targeted keywords based on position in sentences and overall site placement. I can go on. But like Shailendra said, SEO is so dynamic, soon this will be old news.
It is 100% the same. I still make my design layouts with tables. I heard some people use <h1> tags but I just use <font size="10"> Other than that, it's all the same. I'm ranking like crazy in Yahoo and MSN using some techniques I learned on DP a couple years ago. Oh, and I got one good tool in the last two years. I am using a browser called Mozilla FIRE FOX. It's pretty good.
There is a great change in seo since last 2 year Importance of social media and web 2.0 Search engine aglo changes but no one knows Competition has been increased for SEO etc...
ok social and video media is more important these days, more people pretend to know about SEO and the majority are charlatans who know nothing of SEO, take your time to understand what SEO truly is about
