What happens when your VB license expires?

Does your forum just stop working?
Will the license automatically renew, or do you have to manually renew it?

You will get an email when your vb license is close to expiring. If you have an owned license then you don't have to take it down, you can continue to run it but you will have to pay $30 to renew your access to updates and support.

If you have a leased license then you have to cease use of the software on your site.

vBulletin has not implemented any type of code to make your forum stop working when the license expires as your forum is not directly connected to their license database.

You will have to pay for a new one, although it is considerably less. ($30)
    Hope I've helped.

PS: You don't have to pay it, it's just for support etc.

$30 is not for a new one, its a renewal fee for download of updates for vBulletin and support on an owned license.

For a leased license you will either have to pay $85 or buy another license for $85.

I was wondering about it too since I have one leased license. I guess I'll buy owned license when it's close to expiry date.

Once you purchase your owned license, you just upload it overwriting your old Leased license files. So you would basically upload the files as though you were upgrading vBulletin.
