What happens when my domain runs out?

    Hi,

    I bought a 2yr domain last summer, 1 yr tgo go. Do I need to renew or will it be done automatically?

    Or can someone pre-order my domain so it becomes theirs next summer?

    Unless you set it up for auto-renew (automatically charge your credit card), you will have to manually renew. Make sure now that you have access to your domain's control panel and can see the renew function.
    If someone pre-orders then they only get a chance at it if you do not renew. You get first dibs.

    you usually get notified via email unless you didn't request to know prior to it expiring. but yes...renew it!

    I wouln't worry about it. You will start getting emails to remind you to renew your domain name about 3 months to the last 24 hours before it expires.

    they send plenty emails telling u it's about to expire
