God only loves Christians. Didn't you know that?

Of course.... God is supposed to love all men as his children. But if you just so happen to be born and raised in another religion through no fault of your own, well.... sucks to be you!

    That... is your God.

Ahaaa. This describes the very same debate I was having with a few catholic friends of mine (before they became extremists). You have the wrong idea of how true christianity really is. The most basic tenent in the belief of true christianity is that god is infinitely merciful, understanding, kind , loving and wise beyond anything we can grasp or understand.

I wish i could find these friends again but in our debate we found passages in the bible to explain this . If your born in another religion or belief that isnt your fault does anyone truely believe that the god that all christians love would automatically damn them to hell? Come on people.
Most christians say that gods love is the most amazing and true love in the universe. God knows the circumstances of our lives: the way we grew up, our trials and tribulations, what beliefs we have been exposed to.
He knows much more then any christian, atheist, hindu, jewish, or budhist can ever know about to judge another human being. When you start to understand this you will have scratched the surface of gods awesome love.
This is not to say that I dont have an absolute belief in my faith, on the contrary , it proves itin my heart through gods pure love for us all.

When you stand for something, you don't fall for anything.

I think the only way to get through to you is to use an example.

GTech, you're pro-life right? Even if you are somehow not, we'll say you are for now. Do you recall the abortion clinic bombings and similar terrorist tactics?

They obviously don't represent you, whereas they are violent extremists who hijacked a particular belief. Just like Islam. To say that a few thugs represent an entire belief would not be too honest with yourself or others, would it?

This has absolutely nothing to do with the discussion, however, as these are common greenhorn tactics used by the anti-Israel crowd, I'll entertain it.

There were a few abortion bombs in the 90s. Isolated, the perpetrators caught, and hasn't been any since. This is one of the weakest arguments out there and formally, I would have been surprised to see you fall prey to it. Not anymore, though.

Comparing a few isolated abortion clinic bombings to the terrorism being conducted around the world in the banner of islam is preposterous and foolish.

You might want to familiarize yourself with some of the common platitudes islamic apologists use, like "hijacked religion," before stepping off into it any further. Since clearly this is a new direction for you to branch off into, I'd hate to see you make such blatant freshman mistakes as you expand into the world of defending radical islam.

Get with iggs or imad. They can help you come up with better arguments than this.

Do you have BombIslam bookmarked or something? So should we kill all Muslims or just stop them from practicing their faith?

I am a Christian - by Christian I mean that I have accept Christ as my teacher and savior. But, I also consider myself to be a Gnostic. There were as many writings left out of the bible as were included. I will gladly defend anyones right to choose their own path to God - be they Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, Jewish, Wiccan or Pagan. It is not important where your path is, just that you find it. The only incorrect path is the one that you let Others decide for you. Fanaticism to me is the greatest sin. Most wars, in history, were not started by religions but by fanatics.

Well I have come across this situation several times. As a christian I believe that it is not our job to determine the condition of one's soul. Only God knows our hearts. Humans can only see the superficial surface which may or may not be accurate.
We can only pray that our loved ones will be shown mercy from God.

    :)

Sure it isn't your job except when you happen to be preaching to someone that they'll go to hell if they don't repent. :p

    Not you personally.
