What happens to the domain when I stop paying for my host?

    Hello everyone,

My host was Servage.net, I got a domain name for free. I've worked on it, Got good PR and everything.

My paying cycle was every 3 months. I stopped paying for my host and they took my site down, They still have the domain ["registered and no website" Expires: 2010-11-16]

    What happens for it now??
Does it still have the PageRank? Is there a way to get it back?!

    Thanks.

    Thanks for your response.

The nameserver, Hmmm... Where do I get that from? What are the procedures to use it again?

There should be a way you can log into your domain name and change the DNS to another hosting account. Or just forward it to another site or something. Maybe just contact your former hosting company and ask them how to do this.

I suggest to transfer your domain to another domain registrar (Godaddy or moniker), ask servage to give domain transfer authority code.

Domain name and web hosting are 2 things which you buy separately. You should remember about it. If you stop using web hosting service domain name stay with you and belongs only to you.

Check how much does it cost to renew the domain in your registrar, if it's $9-$11, than it's fine and you can continue with them. Otherwise, you'd better move to another host.

But be careful, if your host is down you'll lose all your content -> lose the Page Rank

    What?
Hey, I've already said that the site has been taken down and the content have been deleted, All of it. But the domain is not expired yet.

    PR lost?
