What happens if my ctr surpasses my budget?

Hi, can somebody please explain to me what happens if my advertising campaign yields me more clicks which is worth more than my set budget?

For example if I launch a campaign with a keyword worth .10 and I set my budget to $30... My ctr was successfully high and I ended up with $100 worth of click... Do I have to pay the difference before I can start a new campaign?

    Thanks in advance,

If you're budget is only $30, it won't let you get more than $30 in clicks. End of story.

There is no way that (using your scenario) 300 users, are going to click on the link at the exact same second, down to the millisecond.

    It just wont happen

Can you please explain? Like for example, will my ad be automatically disabled after my budget is met? Or do you mean that its very hard to create ads where simulatenous users click on more than your budget?

Aren't the ads spread through out various webpages? Doesn't the website page have to be reloaded by the users in order for the ads to be disabled?

The ads are spread through various pages, as I understand it, but the odds of that many people clicking at once is ridiculous.

Once your budget has been met for the day/week whatnot, the add will not be shown until the next day/week or whatever.

Put your mind at ease, you will never have to pay overages on your ad campaigns.

I find it hard it to believe that their is no campaign getting atleast 300 simultaneous click (pretty sure there are some with creative ads and names). I just want to protect myself from clickbombs, etc. Ya, I know most networks have fraud click, etc. to detect all of this, but I just want to be safe rather than sorry.

Ok, perhaps let me rephrase the question in a more realistic way. My budget allows for 4 clicks, but I got 6 clicks. Will I have to pay for the 2 clicks before I can start a new campaign, ?

OK, you're just hyper paranoid man. I can't help you. Good luck.

Set your budget to $5 so your crazy ultra click bomb scenario means you won't end up with more than $30 in clicks.... /rolleyes

Simpy put, I set my budget for 2 clicks, and I get 4 clicks for my campaigns. Will I be held liable for extra 2 clicks or wiill the fees be waived?

Somebody serious please answer, no clowns please.

    Thanks in advance,

It depends on the company you are advertising with. With ClickSor.com they almost always gave me 1 too many clicks. But that just got taken out of my next days budget. I forget if they made me pay the extra 10c after I canceled my campaign.

When a visitor clicks an ad it goes to the ad companies website and subtracts the cost of the click from your budget then redirects to the advertisers website. When a click goes through if your budget remaining is equal to 0 then it disables your ad for the rest of the day or how ever long the budget lasts. For there to be any clicks that go over your budget they would have to be clicked at the same time. Meaning you got 300 clicks in 0.0001 seconds. Since your ad is only one out of possibly millions of other ads that is incredibly unlikely.

Ok, first thank you for dropping some knowledge. Maybe using $30 budget with .10 keyword was a bad example.

Lets assume that I have a $30 budget and I bid on a $10 keyword like student loan (or whatever crazy keyword that is worth $10 nowadays). There is a realistic probability that I might get more than 3 clicks, right?

    My second question is...

Lets use Adwords as the ppc network. Adwords displays my site on their networks, once the 3 clicks is reached, does the ad automatically disappear from the users on the website, or does the website displaying the ad have to be reloaded in order for the ad to be disabled?

    Thanks in advance,

AdWords says they will go over your daily budget by no more than 15% (I think that was it) but will never go over your monthly budget (That is your daily budget x 30). This is what I read once when going through their FAQ a long time ago.

Also you can set your max cost per click on any keyword.
