What happens after death? Well that all depends on what you feel about the pre existance of life and the post mortal realm(after life).

If you dont believe in the afterlife than obviously one will say - You die - You are dirt - Food for the bugs.

If you believe in the afterlife - if you believe in one - There will be a judgement and you will get your reward depending on your belief and works.

Me I dont believe in Hell. So that is out of the question. But I know I will see all my family and friends in the aftermath of my life. I also know I atleast will be able to see God and Jesus Christ once again at the judgement. He he - So I better make my life worth it eh?

You'll close your eyes and as your synapses switch off one by one you will revisit random moments for what seems like forever. If your life has been worth living and you die satisfied, you get to fade out with a montage of the best bits, if not, your experience of eternity wil be filled with repentance and pain. What the christians call hell.

We don't know exactly. We do know that we will continue to exist, but in a different way. That our Bodies will be raised up to eternal life. That life, for some, will be very happy. For others it will not be.

    We don't know exactly.

    IMHO, the Taoists are right.

TAOISTS do not believe in the Wheel of Life of the Buddhists nor in the Heaven or Hell of Christianity. "TAOISTS view existence as glorious. The whole Universe, they teach, is a marvelous, vibrant Unity wherein everything, visible and invisible, pulses with energy and changes. As being develops through the experience of existence, its vessels ... are swept onwards by the mighty stream of the eternal TAO to other forms of expression and activity. Man does not die; he merely extends into new fields . ... TAOISTS teach that the end of a person is the return to the Ultimate Reality."

This seems horribly likely. :(

Though, not totally; i doubt it will be "random moments"-- it's more likey to be just dream like events, not actually moments from your past. When you dream, you do not have any concept of time, so it does seem like forever.

If this is true, it means that there is a totally random chance of a Good dream or a bad dream -- one where it is not possible to wake up (hopefully -- that would be fooking bad ;) ) I guess the advice is then, not to eat cheese at night incase you die and you get your "seeminly forever" nightmare.

--- Thinking though, imagine if your brain remembers every little event -- it's all stored in long term memory, and you cannot remember it. You could actually be dead, and just running your "life" in your mind in the split second eternity... whoowhowo

The problem with the suggestion by jamesxp is that it assumes that the laws of physics stop applying. There is only so quickly that electrons can move. The number of thoughts/ideas that a person can entertain is limited. Thus, I do not think scientifically that a person could experience more than -- at most -- a year of time. That is hardly an eternity.

Even experiencing a year of time, or even a week or a full day is still very unlikely. People who faint do not experience this. They have the same lack of oxygen in the brain that people would have as they are dying. They experience nothing like that. Nor do people in a coma.

I think that when a person lies it is clear that either:
1- They die and remain dead forever
2- They die and come back to life in a different world (Heaven, Hell, some other reality, etc).

I think that the answer is that they end up in Heaven or Hell. However, I think that comming to that conclusion may require an act of faith. I think simple logic, however, suggests that people do not experience many years worth of life in the last seconds of their life, just as a matter of physics. Neurons can only travel so fast.
