I think we're seeing some flux in google. My # of indexed pages has been growing and shrinking. Serps have changed slightly in some cases, dramatically in others. Nothing to panic about. Just keep doing what you're doing and things will probably be back to normal again soon.

0 weight will happen if you've used all your api queries. You've only got a 1000. So if you are validating a couple of sites; and checking your keywords; you've used it up. You'll have to wait till tomorrow.

have the number of pages in a google query for site:www.yourdomain.com changed dramatically?

Forgive me, but I was thinking 22K of weight might have been representing a smaller portion of your sites pages. Like flawebworks says, it could be your API key maxed out. If you are using the keyword tracking tool, it also gives stats in # of pages in url.

    no they havent.

and yes - my api key is probably maxed -- but that doesnt explain the initial drop in weight by almost half

I lost about 40K aswell, either the co-op algo has changed or google has spat a load of my pages out, probably the latter.

My sites fluctuate all the time. The bigger the site is; the more I notice it, but they all do it. Usually directly related to what google is doing on any particular day. Best not to obsess over it, you're just going to make yourself nuts :D It always goes back to what it was in a couple of days.

And as I understand it; it takes several days for the change to propagate anyway; so the network itself won't notice. So you worry for nothing...

Check the site: command, and if you're seeing a bunch of URLs w/o titles and descs then it might be time to point some of your weight or other links to the site. With large sites it takes a bit of external links/PR (chicken egg as to which it is) to keep everything in the index. The API drops pages a few days before the site: command does
