What happened to my traffic?

Could you please take a look at this screenshot and let me know your guess on what happened with the site? I started getting more SE traffic, then it suddenly tanked. I know it's only been a week or so, but do you think it will come back? It's a site that pulls ebay rss feeds and displays them. I just recently added link cloaking, so none of the links actually point to ebay any more.

Your graph looks exactly like mine for one of my sites, but with bigger numbers. Happened the same time to. I made no changes, my site was pr4 and now it's pr0.

I didn't lose any PR with it, I mean it was a 0 to begin with, but I really don't understand why it dropped like that.

It could just be the items that are on your site are just not that popular at the moment. Not popular = less searches which = less traffic. However, traffic tends to fluctuate often anyway. You will have days that are better than others, but if it continues to drop consistently then you can get worried.

Yes, it was 100% search engines... Not necessarily just Google, but mostly. My other sites haven't been affected.

This is the only site that I've tried to do any link building and stuff on so far, but haven't done anything related to that in about a month.

It's simply a site that pulls ebay rss feeds and displays them on the site. I recently set it up to mask the url's so they don't point to ebay any more. All of my other sites are still about the same as far as traffic goes.

On this site, I did some directory submissions, but that's about it. It's been a while, though.

So, it looks like it ended up in the good ol' sandbox, you think? I haven't experienced that yet, so this should be interesting.

I used to do a lot of sites like that and would have this happen a lot.
You build a site, start getting back links, it gets traffic for 2 - 6 weeks and then dies.

To get it out of the sandbox, you are going to have to get some higher quality links and also put some good/original content on it.
Getting out of the sand is tough.

In fact, this is the exact reason I dont do those types of sites anymore, It was just too much work having to build new sites all the time just to have them die after a week or two.
Ya, they made money for the few weeks they were up but it gets tiring after a while and makes you feel like all your hard work is for nothing since the sites die so quickly and you have to start over.

You just started the site, I wouldn't worry about the drop. Keep working on marketing it will go up.

Well, I guess the only way to get it back up is to make it a good site for content, as well as the shopping part of it. I'll have to keep that in mind for the other sites that I do like that.

I lost about two thousand hits a day from google the same way on my hosting site, was getting great traffic, then over 48 hours it dropped significantly - and has disappeared from teh SERPs for terms I was numbers 1 to 3 on.... no explanation, just need to work to restore it again... doh....
