Lately I have been seeing a lot people trying to deceive others by saying that their website are pure quality, have never been dropped, have had PR for a long time, etc. etc. Problem is that when you do some basic checks to see if their claims are correct, it is within seconds very obvious that the domains are either expired domains, have no backlinks at all, are just registered and in general are nothing what the sellers say they are. What happened to being honest and doing honest business??? Do they really think everybody is so stupid that they will not find out that the sellers are being dishonest by claiming things that are just not true? Worst part is that more and more people are doing this. Of course it happened a few years ago as well, but lately I find that +/- 90% of the sellers use this technique to screw other webmasters. It really is a shame and people should be hold accountable for their lies. Sorry, but I had to vent this as I get really upset when people try to screw other people. Maybe there are not many people who can spot a link scam, but to me it is very, very obvious that the sellers just want to earn a quick buck, screw over other webmasters and go their own way again. To me this is just unacceptable, just do honest business and you will stay in business a lot longer and therefore make more money in the long run. And isn't that what we are all here for, to make money? Just try to make an honest living and don't lie to people, that is just not done! Thanks for listening and hopefully the screwing-other-webmasters-by-lying will become less and maybe even stop all together.
I always believe the good guys win in the end. Those that are dishonest can trick others once or twice, but sooner or later they will be exposed.
I think they sold their honesty for dollars I also feel that way. But as wisdomtool suggested. I think the good guys will win in the end
that's what we need to know before doing any business with them. because we can't stop them, but we can control them. so next time, avoid this kind of people.. and that's what i did all this time. simple.
Most often you get what you pay for, nobody is going to sell you quality links for $5 or $10 permanent.
After a while you can sense when a site is crap and although there is some crap being sold, there are some great sites being offered.
EAST OR WEST, Honesty is the best. You may think liars are winning the game, but they'll NEVER win in the end...
Right. And why is that? It’s cosmic law. What goes around comes around. Do good, good will be back on you.
What happened with the honesty ? What happened witl love ? feelings ? friendship ? We live in a crazy crazy world that is all about money that's why
Glad to know that I'm not the only one As far as "you get what you pay for", if someone offers links for a few dollars, yes then you know the links aren't quality. But I was talking about links costing $100+ for websites that weren't even one month old... As for how to check, this is what I do. 1) check when domain was registered : http://whois.domaintools.com/digitalpoint.com 2) check Archive.org : http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.digitalpoint.com 3) check backlinks : http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=linkdomain:digitalpoint.com+-site:digitalpoint.com 4) check related websites : http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=related:www.digitalpoint.com/ 5) check nr of indexed pages on all 3 SE's : http://www.google.com/search?q=site:digitalpoint.com and http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/search?p=http://digitalpoint.com&bwm=p&bwms=p&fr2=seo-rd-se and http://search.msn.com/results.aspx?q=site:digitalpoint.com 6) check if pages other than the index page have PR You can check manually, but if you use Firefox the SearchStatus addon allows you to do all the above with just a few clicks : https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/321 Hopefully when everybody checks the websites before buying links, the sellers will stop lying as nobody will buy those links!
