What happened? Did I get burried or sandboxed :(???

I've held the top position for my keyword (#1 or #2) religiously since summer 2008. Yesterday I noticed that I fell to the second position and occasionally the third. Now according to SERP checkers I'm on page 9!! What happened?!?!?!?!?!?

I haven't done any major site changes or any adjustments. I'm still getting crawled by googlebots (as I speak.) But where'd it go!?

A few days ago I posted my link to five blogs as the name. What I mean is the wordpress comment box where you can put "Website."

Helpiddy help!!! I've never seen or experienced this before.

Side note, I'm still #1 in bing, but that's a different search engine of course.

if you have not done any link building for a while and all of a sudden started link building, this can happen. would not be an issue if you were building links on a regular basis. no worries, your site will get back to stable ranking over time. usually within couple of weeks or so

Well the site had become popular enough over the past six+ months that I didn't really need to build links, people who browsed my site would occasionally post my site on some forum or blog. I found one of the links I posted in a comment a days ago on the third page for my keyword, so it looks like it got indexed. I'm just completely confused to as why I just completely disappeared. I get 1 - 2k hits a day from search engines alone, it's just terribly depressing :(.

I dont think a handful of blog comments will do that to your site. There must be another reason....whats the site in question?

enterbf3.com. It runs phpbb2 and has been crawling it just fine. Yes phpbb2 is shitty for SEO, but what, all of a sudden in a few hours, Google has a problem with it and had NO problems with it before? Doesn't make sense IMO.
