It depends on alot of things, such as the anchor text you have for backlinks, and the competition of the keyword (without free). Best of luck mate.
Depends on the competition then. Keep in mind all new link building will be without free. Current backlinks will remain with free in it.

competition between "free keyword" and only "keyword" always have much more difference. I have checked out that if you are only going with keyword that may have bigger competition than free keyword. Though best of luck... the biggest example is ... search in Google with only "Directory" ... note competition for it. and note competition for "Free Directory" have lots much of difference.
