"SCHMIDT: We try very hard to look like we're out of control. But in fact the company is very measured. And that's part of our secret. PAGE: We don't generally talk about our strategy ... because it's strategic. I would rather have people think we're confused than let our competitors know what we're going to do. That's an easy trade-off." If they are really having a strategy , and never say it, why they are telling us about it!? I mean , if theyre strategy is to look deruted, why they are telling us that they are having a secret weapon ... to make people think that they are confused... I really don't get this. do you think they are relly doing this?! I mean most people who say " I wanted to this way , but I wanted everybody else to think I will do that way " are big liers... i think this is true. If you look at any service they release, they almost always resrict enrollment. Take google analytics or their new google pages sservices. they release them and then say, because of high demand, theses services have a wait list. Sign up and we'll tell you when you can have it." Although this may make them look like they didnt properly prepare for the demand and may frustrate some users, but it also makes their services seem more exclusive and therefore more desirable. It's smart marketing. i think they are doing this intentionally. If you offer something for free, people wont value it much. But if you make them wait for it and feel like they are "special" when they get it, they will value the service much more.
