I see a lot of people who charge to post blog comments. But what good is this if they are not posting to a relevant category or blog subject? or include a keyword link?
It's still a back link, hopefully from a related niche blog but more importantly, it's possible traffic to your blog.
estateguy if the guy who is doing the backlink work is charging, then surely they will know what they are doing. Else I wouldn't give them a penny. good SEO is about finding relevant content to backlink from whether this is in blogs or forums or articles. They should also know to be using keywords, or else there is no point! Sure you can add a link with your own name, but this ain't gonna attract anyone to follow that link.
There are so few relevant content site that allow links (in my area of concentration probate and estate law). Attorneys don't want to trash their sites. My solution has been to build 24 sites (web sites and directories) and in the niche. At least then I have control and can keep the content relevant. Here is my offer, what do you think? http://www.estatesettlement.com/grow.php
It's only a decent idea if you can drive traffic to the sites. Paying for a dead directory with no traffic is no good no matter how niche it is, also, from my experience, Attorneys just go ahead and hire web designers and SEO professionals, so they wouldn't deal directly with you anyway or even notice you unless you built it up to be considered some kind of authority site or directory. But on the other hand, it seems like you have a good direction of what you want to do and where you want to be, my immediate suggestions would be, if you want to pull this off is to concentrate on generating large amounts of traffic, and invest in a more professional design that would appeal a little more to business minded individuals. Sometimes perception is 90% of it.
If you do it right you can "Brand" your offer. And if you are in a tight niche the BRAND becomes valuable when people see your offer they recognize it. Just having a keyword link is the wrong way to think about it. You don't have to just chase SEO traffic. Good content is good content and people who are interested in what you have to say will follow it.
It is NOT completely worthless. You can comment to establish a relationship. Same situation applies to commenting on blogs that are NO FOLLOW. It totally depends on your objectives. Here's a blog entry that explores this issue: http://www.highrevenue.com/social-n...ever-make-sense-to-comment-on-no-follow-blogs
A back link. It may not help much in serps cause its unrelated and without anchor text, but it helps in PR. I just commented on a PR7 page, unrelated and without anchor text, but I am guessing it will help me page rank wise.
your comment is no good if it looks really spammy and the blog owner just deletes it anyway. keywords aren't everything.
Same here. If you comment on my dance music blog and your "name" is "Weight loss Supplements", your comment will never see the light of day.
