Reputation points. People use them as a weapon around here. I got people writing they hate me and calling me profane names. Have some really good ones too, but overall I think they are a wasted feature. To bad, I had a cup of coffee I was planning to purchase with them? No? And the infractions. OK, I can get into that, but they don't tell you where they are. They say "inappropriate post" or something. Have no idea what post. Can't correct what you can't recall. No big deal. Another plug in on forums. Cool.
Absolutely agree. It's the dumbest thing around and totally worthless, but mods don't pay any attention and some users treat them as "fool's gold". Added rep for your post.
Thanks man. I just don't like it when people post stuff like "I hate you" and profanity I won't go into because they were challenged mentally by one of my posts. I ain't here doing any harm, I can laugh at it. But it seems like a weapon to some people. Some are really thoughtful and communal. I post a lot, I like to. I'm kind of a loner and this is my outlet. "Fools Gold" good analogy.
I got this other "infraction" and I knew it was a dupe already, admitted it up front, but it was already way into the thread before I actually noticed 10 hours ago or something. So what is the point of this infraction business? And they stick like flypaper. Was it actually necessary? I don't know. Maybe a friendly little PM saying Hey Bro, fuzed your thread there. But it has to be this negative vibe going on. Bummer. No big deal. I am not intentionally posting dupe threads. I think me and that guy hit it about the same moment. It was hot off the press and DP was slow like molasses at that point in time. I was all excited about the news and waiting patiently for the posting page to resolve. I need drugs, some thorazine, prozac, that sort of thing...
